NHRL IROC Challenge Resumes August 7
Friday, July 17, 2020
lepage71 - It's back! We're pleased to announce that the revived NHRL IROC Challenge will be renewed for a second straight season. And this time around, it should be even better. In 2019, the IROC Challenge made a popular return to the league in the Mustang IROC mod and the outcome was a tremendous success. The series also pushed boundaries, featuring a set of unique and innovative formats, including a universal paint template but with driver-specific colors and numbers, as well as new rules like our first-ever segments, inverted starting grids, and segment restart reversals. Oh, and we didn't even mention the identical setups, which is half of the purpose of doing an IROC series. In 2020, these items will return, along with a few new surprises. Last year, IROC was also notable for its creative track selection, and this year will continue the trend with distinctive venues like Symmons, TS Superdome, and North Wilkesboro on the schedule. Additionally, while the series remains at 8 events, it will also be shifting to Friday nights at 8 PM ET, meaning that each race will be a doubleheader alongside the NHRL Busch Series. It all starts on August 7, so be sure to check the forum for updates, and don't forget to request a personalized color and number! Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

New Championship System Somehow Exceeds Hype
Thursday, May 14, 2020
lepage71 - We have our first-ever series co-champions! Entering 2020, the league introduced a split-championship format, comprising both the old Overall Standings and the new 8-4-1 Title Chase. As a result, the year's initial series, the historic 2020 NHRL Truck Series, also marked a groundbreaking moment, becoming the first in a decade to incorporate a playoff elimination. We could not have written a better script. In a tale of two champions, Speedyman11 won the Overall Standings with hallmark consistency, while d3efan captured the inaugural 8-4-1 Title Chase playoff in a dramatic championship finale at Charlotte. Speedy had a strong overall campaign, with a series-leading 7 wins, 7 poles, and 535 laps led, along with a lead-tying 10 top-5s. The other drivers to earn victories were runner-up lepage71 (2) and a resurgent Rookiesrock (3) in third. Bandit, in fourth place, almost won his first major-series race at Eldora, but few doubt it will come sooner rather than later. In the 8-4-1 Title Chase, 8 drivers made the cut after 8 races to form the Elite Eight, and the group narrowed to 4 drivers after 11 races to form the Final Four. Speedy, lepage, Bandit, and d3efan would qualify. The stage was then set for an epic showdown at Charlotte. All four drivers led the race at various stages in the finale. Over time, Bandit slowly fell back, while both Speedy and lepage spun during pit sequences. Meanwhile, d3efan was a case study in fortitude, and he seized the proverbial moment when it mattered most, drafting with the eventual race winner (Rookiesrock) to catch a fuel-saving Speedy on the last lap. The late reversal, symbolic of the volatility of the system, was grand theatre. You could also have lost a big-time bet that the 8-4-1 Title Chase champion would also have been the race winner at Charlotte. We just can't wait to see what happens next in Cup. Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

2020 NHRL Cup Series Starts April 17!
Thursday, April 2, 2020
lepage71 - The entire world might be shifting into lockdown mode but like the passage of the seasons the league is continuing to conduct business as usual. We're like a safe harbor on a dangerous sea. Our next series, the 2020 NHRL Cup Series, will begin at Watkins Glen on April 17, just two weeks after the 2020 NHRL Truck Series finale at Charlotte on April 3. As is often the case come this time of year, onlookers expect the NHRL Cup Series to showcase a variety of tough competition and unique strategies, given the powerful engines of the NHRLC11 mod. One especially novel and intriguing storyline will be the 8-4-1 Title Chase. The new alternate championship made a big debut in the Truck Series and will now make its second league appearance and first appointment with the Cup Series. Like recent series, every event will take place on Friday nights at 9:00 PM ET, sharp! Based on the trend in Cup, where 2018 produced wild finishes, and 2019 was a little more predictable, the series in 2020 should once again be one for the ages. So don't miss even one moment of the upcoming drama. Visit the forum post haste to sign up! Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

Bandit & Grumpy Cruise to Victory @ NHRL 24
Friday, February 7, 2020
lepage71 - The NHRL 24 is undoubtedly becoming one of the most prestigious events on the community calendar. Like in 2018 and 2019, the 2020 edition would not disappoint. On a clear winter Florida day, most pundits expected lepage71, the two-time defending champion, to claim another overall event title. However, in the days leading up to the race, a game of uncertainty arose over who would fill the GT2 and GT3 car classes. As it turned out, nearly the entire field went with GT2, which led to the fastest contest up front in NHRL 24 history. In the end, Bandit and Grumpy drove to the winners circle, both piloting 911 Porsches to precision in GT2 and GT3 respectively. Similar to 2019, the event featured long green flag runs, except in this case there was not a single caution period. After capturing the pole, leading the opening several laps, and briefly losing the lead on lap 6, the door opened for good when Bandit pitted for fuel, and lepage unwisely went an extra lap and ran out on lap 7. The ensuing gap between them would narrow from 50 to 20 seconds but the die was cast. After a one-year hiatus, KartRacer63 returned to the '24 and finished in 3rd, impressively remaining on the lead lap. In 4th, one lap behind the podium trio, d3efan put up a solid effort in his inaugural appearance. Two laps down, BlackKnight finished 5th for the third consecutive season. In 6th overall, Grumpy was the lone GT3 pilot, yet he was also faster than several GT2 competitors, dispelling any notion his GT3 victory was some kind of ceremonial tap-in for par. Third Yearly Trek to Florida Set for January 25 Weekend
Wednesday, January 15, 2020
lepage71 - It's here! The NASCAR Heat Racing League has announced its fifth Signature Event and third annual NHRL 24 @ DAYTONA! Following the tremendous success of the previous two editions of the event, we look forward to another grand exhibition as we head to Florida again this winter. The third NHRL 24 @ DAYTONA will happen on January 25 at 9:00 PM ET and consist of 24 green-flag laps at Daytona RC in the SCGTS Mod. Drivers may pilot either the GT2 or GT3 class within the mod; we'll celebrate the honorary winner from each group. The event will also include driver-led caution flags, where the leader of the race will become the pace lap leader upon the calling of a caution flag. And, as is the case with each Signature Event, drivers can upload custom paint schemes for the race via their driver account on the website. For more on the event, please monitor our forum! 2020 Truck Series Heralds Third League Decade
Thursday, January 2, 2020
lepage71 - A new year is upon us and that means a fresh season of racing will be starting shortly. That's right, it's time for trucks! The NASCAR Heat Racing League is thrilled to release the schedule and open registrations for the 2020 NHRL Truck Series season. As expected, the trucks will remain on Friday nights at 9:00 PM ET, as was the case for every series during the 2019 season. However, unlike last year's timeline, the trucks will once again have a winter starting date this year. In total, the series will stretch from January 10 to April 3, comprising 12 events across our customarily diverse rotation of courses. It will also feature our first-ever supplemental 8-4-1 dual title chase (more details soon). After a somewhat speedway-intensive schedule last year, the Truck Series will now cycle around to a group of more technical venues this year. The schedule includes Eldora Speedway, banked Miami, North Carolina, Sonoma Carousel, and the new ISM Raceway. As always, we anticipate plenty of compelling storylines. For this reason and more, the series will not be one to miss. So don't delay another moment...visit the NHRL forum and sign up today! Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

Seventh Annual Holiday Derby Next Weekend
Monday, December 16, 2019
lepage71 - Conduct in the NASCAR Heat Racing League is usually characterized by a common respect for the league rules and traditions. Its membership maintains a careful balance between fair and fun competition. But enough of such talk. On Saturday, December 21 at 8:00 PM ET, any notion of good sportsmanship will be abandoned in its entirety, and replaced with what everyone REALLY wants to do during this holiday season. That's right, it's your favorite time of the year again! The league is highly proud to announce its seventh annual Holiday Derby...the one and only NHRL party where the term "bash" applies literally! On the 21st, a gaggle of selfish, child-like hooligans will call to arms in the UPS Mod at TriCounty PST in a hate-fest of greed, survival, and one-upsmanship. And, also in the holiday spirit, the event will be open to all, even if you have limited talent, and assuming you bring a poor attitude. As anticipated, those who can't handle the pressure will slink into their wettened bed sheets and hide. Skip this year's event and you'll be missing an opportunity to make NASCAR Heat history! Don't Miss the Fall Festival on December 7!
Saturday, November 30, 2019
lepage71 - Yes, it's official! The NASCAR Heat Racing League has announced its fourth Signature Event installment and second annual shootout lollapalooza. On December 7 at 9:00 PM ET, the league will host the Fall Festival, modeled after the Winter Welcome from last season, hitting ten short tracks in one evening with the Pro Stock Car Heat mod (part 1 and part 2). The Fall Festival will feature the same unique format as the Winter Welcome. Each shootout race will last five minutes, the first track in the rotation will apply a random starting grid, and then every following round will have a reversal based on the previous results. However, unlike last year, the 2019 event will also simplify matters, using a common fixed setup the entire night. The competition therefore will likely become even tighter which means just more craziness and unpredictability! For more about the Fall Festival, be sure to monitor the league forum, where we'll be discussing further event details. Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

Speedy Powers to Victory in Busch Series
Thursday, November 21, 2019
lepage71 - Our 2019 league series have come to a close! The NHRL Busch Series, the final series of the season, offered a fitting ending chapter. The league made stops at wide-ranging venues stretching from Road America to banked Miami. And not surprisingly, given the track record of the NBS mod, exactly two-thirds of the races (8 of 12) were decided by less than 3 seconds. In all, Speedyman11 drove to his third championship of the year, taking the crown with an impressive degree of consistency. He led the entire series with 8 wins, 12 top-5 finishes, and 115 bonus points. The only other driver to capture a win was runner-up lepage71, who tallied remarkably similar numbers (4 wins, 11 top-5s, and 110 bonus points). Reverse a few of those close races and we might have seen a different champion. Bandit, the third driver on the podium, tied his best-ever series performance, matching his IROC Challenge result mere months ago. He currently remains winless in the three major historical series (Cup, Busch, and Trucks) but few doubt his first victory will come in 2020. In the fourth position, d3efan completed his popular comeback campaign, earning a quadfecta of top-6 series standings finishes. Grumpy came home fifth, continuing to slowly but surely add speed, suddenly causing everyone to wonder: is series win #2 far away? Yes, it's all so compelling...2020 will be here before we know it! IROC Challenge Revival Receives Strong Reviews
Sunday, October 27, 2019
lepage71 - Was that a success or what? In 2019, the NHRL IROC Challenge made a popular return to the league and the results did not disappoint. In fact, the long-waited revival of the identical setup series would exceed expectations. There were perhaps three main reasons. One, the IROC Challenge introduced a ground-breaking new race system and became the first series in league history to use segments. Each event had unpredictable inverted starting grids as well as segment restart order reversals. Second, in clear examples of its wide-open format, IROC featured two first-time series winners in viagra6car and Bandit. Moreover, there were multiple races where all but one or two drivers led laps. And finally, despite the close competition, it also rewarded great performances, with Speedyman11 claiming the series championship on the strength of five victories. However, only one of those wins had a margin over 4 seconds, and three of the victories were decided by less than half of a second. Overcoming screen minimization issues, lepage71 rallied to finish second on the podium, winning the opening event at Milwaukee. The two other series victors, viagra6car and Bandit, claimed third and fourth in the standings. Many hope the league takes a serious look at renewing the series next year. Rated 5/5 (2 votes).
