2021 NHRL Cup Series Preview
Thursday, April 1, 2021
lepage71 - Oh, this is going to be good! Like clockwork, the league now cycles to its next series, and the related storylines and narratives in tow are not likely to disappoint. You know it: the 2021 NHRL Cup Series rolls into town on April 16th! Just as in 2020, we enter the Cup Series fresh off an incredible Truck Series, where the 8-4-1 Title Chase came down to a matter of inches and a surprising turn of events in the series finale. But that's not the end of the comparisons. Similarly, Cup also includes doubleheader races, a concept which made its debut in Trucks this year with much fanfare. Overall, the schedule spans 10 weeks, with our usual allotment of 12 races, stretching from the mid-spring to mid-summer. Equally of note, the 8-4-1 Title Chase should offer further theatrics, as none of the four host courses on the Cup schedule have ever before even hosted a playoff event. Need we state more? As with other series every Cup event will take place on Friday nights at 9:00 PM ET. Trust us. You won't want to miss one moment of the unfolding drama. Visit the league forum now to register for the series! Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

Victory for Bandit, lepage71, CR49 at Daytona
Sunday, February 7, 2021
lepage71 - One week ago, in what has now become an annual winter tradition, the NASCAR Heat Racing League headed south to Florida for the fourth NHRL 24 @ DAYTONA. However, in the 2021 edition, a new vibe filled the air. For the first time, the league opened the event to the GT1 class, meaning drivers could pilot the GT1, GT2, or GT3 classes in the race. The strong horsepower of the new class made an immediate impact. Bandit, the overall winner last season in GT2, drove to his second consecutive title but this time in the GT1. The story was also eerily similar to last year. In 2020, lepage71 ran out of fuel, handing Bandit an insurmountable lead. In 2021, Speedyman11 entered as the favorite, and led the early laps with the powerful GT1 machine. In a surprise, Speedy repeated the mistake, in almost an identical fashion as lepage, unwisely attempting an extra lap on fuel prior to his first pit stop. Bandit would never need to look back as the event went caution-free. In GT2, the class victory went to lepage, who ran a 911 Porsche for the fourth straight year. CR49, participating in his first NHRL 24, impressed observers with a convincing 2-lap margin in the GT3 class. Grumpy rounded out the top-5 in a GT3, remaining a staple in the history of the event. League Sanctions Fourth Annual NHRL 24 @ DAYTONA
Thursday, January 21, 2021
lepage71 - It's time! The NASCAR Heat Racing League has sanctioned its seventh Signature Event and fourth annual NHRL 24 @ DAYTONA! Following the universal success of the previous three editions of the NHRL 24, we look forward to another fantastic exhibition as we head southeast once more. The fourth staging will occur on January 30 at 9:00 PM ET and consist of 24 green-flag laps at Daytona RC in the SCGTS Mod. One big change is in store as well. Drivers may now pilot the GT1, GT2, or the GT3 car class; we'll commemorate the honorary winner from each group. The event will also include driver-led caution flags, in which the current leader of the race will become the pace lap leader upon the calling of a caution flag. And, as is the case with each Signature Event, drivers can upload a custom paint scheme for the race using their driver account on the website. For more about the event, please monitor the forum! 2021 NHRL Truck Series Starts Soon!
Friday, January 1, 2021
lepage71 - Well, that's a wrap! Without doubt, 2020 was a difficult one for many, but it turned out to be banner year for the league. Great competition, titles that went down to the wire, and the addition of the groundbreaking 8-4-1 Title Chase all combined to produce a remarkable season. The league is thrilled to jump right into 2021 with an old favorite. That's right, it's time for the NHRL Truck Series! As expected, the series will remain on Friday nights, as was the case for every series during the 2020 season. Overall, the Truck Series will span from January 10 to March 26, consisting of 12 races across our traditionally diverse rotation of courses. The schedule includes a host of very unique venues like Iowa, Brickyard, banked Miami, and Road America. The Trucks will also be the first league series to feature doubleheader races. We plan to host several such nights per series in 2021. The goal here is to consolidate our official activities into fewer race nights throughout the season. As always, we anticipate plenty of interesting storylines. For this reason and more, the series will not be one to miss. So don't delay one more moment...visit the forum and sign up today! League Sanctions 2020 Winter Welcome
Wednesday, December 9, 2020
lepage71 - We're on! The NASCAR Heat Racing League has announced its sixth Signature Event installment and third annual shootout extravaganza. On Friday the 18th at 9:00 PM ET, one night after the Holiday Derby, the league will hold the Winter Welcome, modeled after the Fall Festival from last year, featuring ten short track races in one evening with the USAC Legend mod. The Winter Welcome will include the same unique format as the Fall Festival. Each shootout race will last five minutes, the first track in the rotation will have a random starting grid, and then each following round will have a reversal based on the previous results. Also like last year, the 2020 event will simplify matters, using a common fixed setup the whole night. The competition will likely therefore become even closer which means just more frenziness and unpredictability! For more on the Winter Welcome, be sure to monitor the league forum, where we'll be discussing further event details. Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

Eighth Annual Holiday Derby Coming Up Next!
Wednesday, December 9, 2020
lepage71 - The decorum of the NASCAR Heat Racing League is usually defined by a universal respect for the league rules and traditions. Its membership upholds a careful balance between fair and festive competition. But enough of such pap. On Thursday, December 17 at 10 PM ET, any notion of legitimate sportsmanship will be abandoned in its entirety, and substituted with what everyone REALLY wants to do during this holiday season. That's right, it's your favorite time of the year again! The league is highly honored to host its eighth annual Holiday Derby...the one and only league party where the word "bash" applies literally! On the 17th, a rabble of foolish, child-like imbeciles will rush to arms in the NBS Mod at ORP in a hate-fest of greed, survival, and one-upsmanship. And, in the holiday spirit, the event is open to all, even if you have limited talent, providing you bring a bad attitude. As expected, those who can't handle the pressure will slink under their wettened bed sheets and then brown the mattress. Skip this year's event and you'll be missing an opportunity to make NHRL history! Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

Busch Series Offers Season-Long Drama
Tuesday, December 8, 2020
lepage71 - So do you think it's better to be lucky or good? Most of us would take both! Like he did in the Cup Series, Speedy has united the two Busch Series crowns, successfully winning the Overall Standings and the 8-4-1 Title Chase. However, unlike in Cup, he had help in Busch. In the season finale at California, Speedy, lepage71, Rookiesrock, and first-time Final Four driver CR49 all qualified for the chance to drive off into 8-4-1 history. The race started off with gusto as the four drivers traded positions during the opening stages. Down the stretch, lepage began to separate from the pack under green flag conditions, but a sudden communication error caused his crew to take no tires during a critical late pit stop. After lepage returned to pit road, Rookie quickly inherited the lead, but one that would just be momentary. Speedy would rebound from a slow pit stop to ultimately chase and catch Rookie on the final run. In the end, Rookie, CR49, and lepage formed the top-four. The Overall season left no doubt, though. Speedy won the most races (8), tied for the most top-5s (11), and captured by far the most laps led (533). In second, lepage claimed two victories of his own, and to no one's surprise led the league with a +26 rating. Rookiesrock was third despite not being scored for a race. He won at Sonoma Carousel and went a perfect 11-for-11 in top-5 finishes. CR49, d3efan, viagra6car, the Grumpster, and Bandit rounded out the core top-eight. Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

Speedy Captures IROC Title Convincingly
Sunday, December 6, 2020
lepage71 - Last season, the NASCAR Heat Racing League revived the NHRL IROC Challenge, and the identical setup series delivered with almost universal acclaim. A follow up act was never in doubt. As expected, the league renewed the IROC series in 2020, and the result was a similar mix of draft-pack racing and late-race fireworks. Like in 2019, Speedyman found victory lane 5 times on his way to a second consecutive IROC championship. He started the year with a big statement, winning at the Symmons road course with a 20-second margin. However, the gap in every other race was less than 5 seconds, including four that were decided by less than 2 seconds. Rookiesrock put together an outstanding campaign with 3 victories, capturing the final two events to close the series, and finished runner-up in the standings. In third, lepage71 ran well all series long, but seemed plagued by unusual issues in each race, including several late spins that hampered his chances for victory and the title. Bandit followed up his strong third-place result in 2019, in which he won his first series race at Untona, with a solid fourth-place effort in 2020. The top-five was completed by d3efan, who was his customarily handsome self. Think IROC is in doubt for 2021? Nope, not us, either. Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

Speedyman11 Earns Two-Fold Cup Series Victory
Monday, November 2, 2020
lepage71 - Speedyman11 is your Cup champion! Starting in 2020, the league introduced an exciting dual-championship format, incorporating both the old Overall Standings and the new 8-4-1 Title Chase. The revised system made its debut in the NHRL Truck Series earlier in the year and the final results were nothing short of spectacular. In the trucks, we saw a very close battle down the stretch, a dramatic championship finale at Charlotte, and our first-ever series co-champions in Speedy and d3efan. Most observors expected a similar set of fireworks as the calendar turned to the NHRL Cup Series. However, despite narrow margins in each race, Speedy was able to reunite the two-title system under a single crown, dominating the Overall Standings and claiming the 8-4-1 Title Chase at New Hampshire. In the process, he also led the series in a variety of major categories, most notably in wins, poles, top-5s, and laps led. His main competition during the season was lepage71, who made second-place a big theme throughout the campaign, finishing as the runner-up in both championships. In fact, a similar pattern was true across the entire standings table, as the top six drivers finished each championship in an identical order, including Rookiesrock in third, d3efan in fourth, CR49 in fifth, and viagra6car in sixth. Let's see if that ever happens again! No slouches, Bandit and Grumpy were the other key factors in the series, driving to the seventh and eighth positions in the Overall Standings and 8-4-1 Title Chase. Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

2020 NHRL Busch Series Also Starts August 7
Friday, July 17, 2020
lepage71 - The league calendar is about to hit overdrive. For the first time in years, two league series are slated to race on the same night across their entire schedules, as starting on August 7 the 2020 NHRL IROC Challenge and the 2020 NHRL Busch Series will combine for doubleheader events on Fridays from 8-9 PM ET. As expected, the field will turn once again to the NBS mod, an annual pilgrimage and rite of passage for the Busch Series, and perhaps the most popular and competitive mod in use on the whole NHRL circuit. Most pundits are anticipating a continuation of the recent dramatic race narratives in the transition from Cup to Busch. One especially new and interesting storyline will be the 8-4-1 Title Chase. The alternate championship made a big debut in Trucks, a great follow-up showing in Cup, and will now make its first date with Busch. Moreover, the league is also highly excited about the schedule, which will consist of 12 events between the August 7 opener and November 13 finale, and range from traditional league tracks like Bristol and Michigan to recent release courses like ISM Raceway and Chicagoland2018. To participate in Busch, please register on the forum. Given everything happening in 2020, we expect a lively state of affairs out on the track! Rated 5/5 (2 votes).
