Team NHRL, one of the original teams of the league, was reorganized into NHRL Racing at the start of the 2012 season. DaveO, lepage71, and Skoty Speed jointly formed the team, intending it to be competitive and demonstrate a spirit of sportsmanship. At the opening ceremony, lepage71 laid out an ambitious agenda: "We not only want to compete for titles, but also be exemplary citizens, helping the community as a whole." The team has principal financial backing from two leading sponsors: the NASCAR Heat Racing League and The Mod Squad.
