Talladega is a 2.66-mile super speedway with 4 corners and a 65 MPH speed limit on pit road. The league competed at Talladega for the first time during the 2002 season. Since its league debut, the track has hosted 57 races in 3 series. As a member of the super speedway group, Talladega always features close competition due to the drafting effect between cars. With the power of draft, even the fastest drivers rarely pull more than a car length away from their nearest foes. Such close quarters, however, come with inevitable risk: no veteran of Talladega has managed to avoid "the big one" at some point in their career. The constant danger of a huge pileup remains one of the most feared aspect of the high speeds at this track. |
