Resolving spotter errror!

Post by SpeedyExiter »

The " .sfx " file inside the race.res file that was causing the spotter error "one to go ,next time by" was in fact the
5togo.sfx file. The spotter would announce "5 to go" and then approximately 8 seconds later at the end of the file announce "ONE To go , next time by". Now that isn't the only time he says it. He says it at the tailend of the "2togo.sfx" file.Apparently the game makers, rather then make a seperate .sfx file ,just tacked it on to the end of the "2togo.sfx" . How they managed to tack it on to the 5togo.sfx we will never know.To fix it if it annoys you, like it did me. Crack open the race.res and remove the 5togo.sfx file and also delete it from the reslist.txt file in there. Then Mkres the remaining files ,into a new "race.res "file and put it back in your
"C\program files\Hasbro Interactive\Nascar Heat\run" folder. BTW, the words 5 to go will appear on the lower right side of your windsheild anyway during the race.

Last but not least.....If you want, you can instead edit the "5togo.sfx" file with a audio editor and remove the back part of the file but it can be somewhat difficult.

LOL, you know, the the ONLY reason I leave the spotter on, is so I get that "SLOW DOWN!" warning before entering pit road.

I don't trust him for shit-else anyway. Maybe that's why I never noticed there was a problem, lol.
