transfering to a new pc
This week i custom built my first pc and have been in the process of transfering all my heat files from my old pc to the new one. My problem is that i can't get the CTS mod to work. I have no problem with the CUPcot, NBS, or IROC mods. When i click on the cts application file(.exe) it shows this message "splash screen not found!... aborting!" Not sure if this is a Vista problem or not. My old pc was XP and the new one is Vista. Another question, i was wandering how many league members are running heat on Vista and are have there been problems between heat/Vista?

I am sure there are others, but the only person I know has installed and is running heat on Vista is Lepage. Get with him.

The only problems with vista & heat are its new "overboard" security system If you are installing any files to heat be sure to right click & click run as administrator....
Another thing you could do to help with added security.. Is to right click on the "NASCAR Heat" folder click on the "Security" tab & add your user account to the list, then check the box that gives you full control, this will prevent any files from being phantom-ly installed..
As for the splash screen, Have you tried using mod launcher or a Heat shortcut, my cts doesn't even have its own exe..

yes i had installed a lot of files properly on vista, then go in the game and either the setups or paints arent there. then when you look in the folder you will see a tab that says compatability files ,and you have to open that, cut them out of there and paste them back in the folder you thought you already put them in. other than the already mentioned admistrator deal (which can be fixed too by right clicking the program icon, going to properties, there u will find a compatability tab, and you can select to run that particular program compatable with windows xp if you want, and now i can just click and run the program without "running as administrator) once you figure those couple of things out, there are no issues running heat in any way on vista.

There are 2 way to fix the splash screen issue...
1- as mentioned, use the mod launcher.
2- copy/paste the splsh screen from any other mod into your cts folder. or you could make one, but much easier to copy/paste..
