Heat issues for Cup mod
Having issues ops: I may not be able to sub after all. I haven't used Heat "CUP" mod in a while.... only the Busch mod. and when i try to open up my Cup mod.... it gives me this message (see below) I've tried reinstalling a common res file into heat.... but it still says this. Soooo.... with that said... unless someone can help me with a quick fix..... I will not be able to sub for ya DaveO.
Sorry Eagle

For regular Heat (Winston Cup 2000) the common.res should be in the Run folder. It may have become corrupted due to use of Schedule Editor or something like that. Easy to replace though since the original common.res is located in the DATA folder on the CD.

Efffffffffffffff!
hey buddy...... "no workie-workie!"
i've tried that b4.... and i tried it again last night..... with the same result.
i'm going to probably have to uninstall and reinstall..... but i'm very nervous about doing that. don't want to lose what i have.... and all of the other mods are linked to the heat folder.... Yikes! sounds like a head ache.
for now..... please just try and find another sub. sorry man.

Hey Eagle, Take your current hasbro file and change the hasbro name to something else. Then reinstall heat and make sure it works. Reboot. Next grab, copy or cut a mod folder from the old directory and drop it in the new one. NP works all the time. Once ur game is working correctly put it on a disc......or 2,3,4. My hasbro folder is 5 gig. Good luck.

Also.... Eagle Keeper.... the way I do it is to just make a folder called "heat backup", and in that I put my setups folder, and I drag all the .tex files from my Heat folder. You may want to include the file "options.cfg" as well, that way heat will be just the way you left it.
Then you can install heat, patch it to 1.80. You just run the 1.1 patch and then you can run the 1.80. (Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to do EVERY patch in succession, just 1.1 then 1.80). After you patch it to 1.80, you just put your setups folder back in, and then put all your .tex files and options.cfg back into your heat base folder. It works like a charm!
