After receiving some great ideas and input from various drivers, we're renovating the current Setups Exchange section on the forum in order to make it more useful for the league as a whole.
When this section was first created, it was intended to be a spot to upload setups, but ALSO a place to discuss weekly race strategies, share advice about creating or editing setups, and post general banter about the next league event. Right now, setups are often posted, but there is almost never discussion here (although sometimes stuff is brought up in the League Garage).
We think that both learning and experienced drivers would benefit greatly from using this section as more than a setup-dumping ground. The idea is to further increase the competitiveness of the league, improve the general knowledge and driving of newer drivers, and get consistent discussions going about strategies and setups. We still encourage everyone to post setups, but this section should also be a more complete resource for the league. Just like Practice Sessions is THE reliable place to post about practices, this can be the area to discuss setups and strategies.
Rookiesrock has volunteered to be the early moderator and guider of the renovated forum. He will be encouraging weekly discussions, monitoring off-topic posts, and making sure this section is used for sharing ideas, asking questions, and providing assistance rather than random arguments about issues outside of the league. Over time, however, this section will ONLY be useful if the entire league contributes and initiates discussions. I don't want everyone to wait around for "Rookiesrock's weekly post" because that is not his purpose as moderator. If you want to discuss strategies and setups, this is a great resource, but no single driver is going to be relied on for everything. It should be like the Unofficial Results forum, where at some point SOMEONE chimes in to supply the results, but not the same guy every time.
Remember, this section is intended to benefit everyone, and if other drivers never start up the discussion, pose questions about the next race, or make general observations about upcoming races then helpful discussions will never get going.
