That's right, 2021 begins with one of our most prestigious races, the fourth annual NHRL 24 @ DAYTONA!
The fourth edition will take place on January 30 at 9:00 PM ET and contain 24 green-flag loops at Daytona RC in the SCGTS Mod. Drivers may pilot the GT1, GT2, or GT3 class within the mod; we'll commemorate the honorary winner for each group. The event will also have driver-led caution flags, where the leader of the race will become the pace lap leader upon the calling of a caution flag. All competitors are required to sign into our Ventrilo server for the night.
NHRL Signature Events are a continuous, season-less series of special exhibition races conducted at alternative tracks in non-league-series mods. In some cases, the rules, formats, or other particularities may also differ significantly from standard league activities. The possibilities for NHRL Signature Events are truly limitless, so we invite members of the general community to join the discussion on our forum and take an active role in shaping their ever-evolving schedule.

However, in the 2021 edition, a new vibe filled the air. For the first time, the league opened the event to the GT1 class, meaning drivers could pilot the GT1, GT2, or GT3 classes in the race. The strong horsepower of the new class made an immediate impact. Bandit, the overall winner last season in GT2, drove to his second consecutive title but this time in the GT1. The story was also eerily similar to last year. In 2020, lepage71 ran out of fuel, handing Bandit an insurmountable lead. In 2021, Speedyman11 entered as the favorite, and led the early laps with the powerful GT1 machine. In a surprise, Speedy repeated the mistake, in almost an identical fashion as lepage, unwisely attempting an extra lap on fuel prior to his first pit stop. Bandit would never need to look back as the event went caution-free. In GT2, the class victory went to lepage, who ran a 911 Porsche for the fourth straight year. CR49, participating in his first NHRL 24, impressed observers with a convincing 2-lap margin in the GT3 class. Grumpy rounded out the top-5 in a GT3, remaining a staple in the history of the event.
