Summer Shootout

We'd like to schedule our second NHRL Signature Event soon over the next month.

After the great success of the first event, the NHRL 24 @ Daytona, we know that many been waiting to hear details about the next one.

Sometime in September, to close out the summer season, we're looking at putting together a multi-race short track shootout kind of event, based in part on Bandit's original idea from a few months ago, which he posted in our ongoing open discussion topic: viewtopic.php?f=81&t=12600.

A "short sprint" series with any mod. For exapme, use the 1978 NASCAR Legends mod with open setups and do a few laps on each track in that year's schedule. This is a season in one night basically. We would do 1-3 laps at Riverside, than 1-5 at Daytona, etc. The number of laps we do will be based on how long the track is. This would be a interesting idea for those who want to relive older seasons of NASCAR. Hopefully not too conplicated for everyone. Thanks.

Bandit has launched the Classic Series at ARL so it makes sense to set a different theme for this event. Summers and shootouts just seem to go together. Plus, there's a lot of short tracks available. To help us out, we'd like to hear some comments and feedback about mods and tracks.

Overall, I figure the event will consist of 5-10 races, each 5-10 minutes. To keep it simple, though, I think we should run a single mod.

One mod idea: Modifieds, where we have some solid racing and setup experience.

All of the courses should be shorter than one mile.

Again, as part of this event, we envision short races on 5-10 of these places.

Just an FYI. We're going to be shifting the name of this next event from the Summer Shootout to the Fall Festival so as to reflect the transition from summer to autumn. I could also see the Fall Festival becoming an annual tradition with different mods and formats in the future. As far as the HeatFinder calendar goes, a date in the fall just works out better for scheduling this event.

Any suggestions on a good day, date, and/or time to host this event?

Try racing Colorado National Speedway aka CNS, Day or Night version, would be epic with the modifieds.
