New trucks into mod

Post by RoushFenway9916 »

I am having an issue and was wondering if anybody could help me out? I have Vista and running Heat from my HP Laptop. I have every other aspect downloaded and working just fine. However, when I try to install my own paint jobs, Heat will not recognize it. I have went through the install process correctly several times with several different painted trucks and none of them will show up in the driver list. I know the files are fine because they work just fine on my old Gateway desktop. I have tried loading and running as admin, but that still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Still no luck... nothing, and I mean nothing, has worked. No matter what truck I try to install, it will not recognize it in the game (list of drivers/trucks) to pick from.

Are you adding them to the drivers.txt file? If you dont add your trucks to this file, they wont show up in the game list.

I don't even have a drivers.txt file. I didn't on my gateway either and it worked on there. Here is what I do to install...

MOD Launcher - click on UTILITIES tab - go down to INSTALLERS - then I click on INSTALL NEW .TGA/.TEX/.CAR FILES

I have saved the car file to my desktop after downloading it from my email. I cut that file and paste it here:
C drive / Program Files / Hasbro Interactive / NASCAR Heat / cts folder

After I go thru the steps above, I find my truck in that folder, click on it, and hit open. The box that pops up, I change only the DRIVER / CAR NAME box to read "Josh Purdue" (it is a purdue paint job). The CHASSIS box still reads "ctruck." I change the rank box from "48" to "99." I keep RACE IMAGE at "100," and BODY STYLE at "pcar." The boxes UI IMAGE and WHEELBASE NAME have nothing in them. I then click on INSTALL at the bottom. It takes me back to my MOD Launcher. Then when I enter the game, and go looking for my name (Josh Purdue) it is nowhere to be found.

Any suggestion with all of this information given?

Do you see a file called "drivers" or "drivers.txt"? It should be there or else the mod would give you the default Nascar heat drivers list for cup. If you need one I can send the one that came with the mod.

Yeah, I obviously need something to get it to work. Why does it work on my Gateway desktop without this file? I do not have this file on either computer.
