Speedyman11 Claims Second Cup Series Victory
Thursday, August 18, 2016
lepage71 - Close battles have become a fixture of the NASCAR Heat Racing League during the caution flag era. Last season, Speedyman11 captured his first NHRL Cup Series championship by just a few positions on the race track. This season turned out to be no different. Incredibly, his follow-up performance led not just to another Cup Series title, but a virtually identical result in the standings. In 2016, Speedy clinched his second series championship by 16 points, once again, over lepage71 (1863-1848). He did so on the strength of a series-leading 7 wins, 11 top-5s, 7 poles, and 431 laps led. Also similar, lepage surged late in the season, closing with 2 victories of his own and 10 top-5s. Ever-steady Rookiesrock, meanwhile, trailed them by a mere 60 points, adding another pair of wins to his resume. In fourth, Breeze put together his most solid Cup Series campaign to date, with 9 top-5s and a perfect 12 top-10s. And just behind (1683-1649), always-consistent BlackKnight matched his career-best effort in Cup by finishing fifth in the standings. Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

League Hosting Holiday Derby on Friday, December 19th
Wednesday, December 17, 2014
lepage71 - Oh yes, it's that time of year again. The league is...slightly proud...to announce its second annual Holiday Bash! The only thing is, this celebration IS a bash, literally. That's right, we're talking about DERBY, Part IV. On Friday the 19th, a pack of selfish, unholy drivers will be gearing up in the Classic Series and heading to the irritable walls of Bristol_SP in a grudge match of survival and self-servingness. As last season proved, the fearful will be skipping this race, hiding under their dampened bed covers in a vein and sad hope that Santa will soon deliver some morsel of future courage. For those with the mettle, however, that means 100 laps of no rules racing. These festivities and more will take place in the NHRL server on Friday, December 19th at 10 PM Eastern Time. The event is open to anyone who draws breath, including non-league-members and any two-bit clown who's donning a Santa suit. Skip this event again, and you'll be missing a second chance to make history. Rated 5/5 (3 votes).

DaveO Retains NHRL CUP Series Title in 2013
Wednesday, August 21, 2013
lepage71 - Sensing a pattern? In 2012, DaveO won 8 races and topped teammate lepage71 for the CUP Series title. He wrote a similar storyline in 2013, reaching victory lane 8 times and topping...well, you can figure out the rest. It was a remarkable season, as Dave qualified on 7 poles and led 563 laps. Although he trailed in the wins category (3), lepage finished just 65 points behind Dave thanks to similar consistency. Between them, the NHRL Racing duo hogged 19 of the 24 1st- and 2nd-place finishes. Their team dominance belied a close competition deeper in the ranks. In a twist, 2nd through 5th in the standings went to the same drivers, in the same order, as the NBS Series. Rookiesrock contended every week, ending up 3rd, but remains mired in a victory slump. bover907 and cruisectrl built on their strong NBS campaigns, scoring 6 top-5s apiece. In 2014, the series will greet not just a new mod from bover, but also a new team that includes bover. However, many are dubious that this team will actually write a news release to tell us about it. Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

CUP Series Competition Returning to NHRL
Saturday, April 20, 2013
lepage71 - Saturday night competition will be returning shortly to the NASCAR Heat Racing League! And a whole bunch of drama will be coming along with it. The 2013 CUP Series campaign is set to begin at the conclusion of the current NBS Series season. But the wait will not be long. The series kicks off at Charlotte on May 18, just 24 hours after the final Friday night NBS event at Charlotte. The double header weekend establishes a compelling tone for the rest of the season. The CUP Series schedule builds on the league-wide changes announced earlier in the season, visiting a host of courses not selected for the NBS season. The variety of tracks is striking, with MP Pocono, Sears Point, and Brickyard returning for the first time in years. League veterans, new members, and rookies will alike mix it up in a veritable melting pot. So quit your waiting, and go register on the forum already! Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

DaveO Wins the CUP Series Championship in 2012
Wednesday, June 13, 2012
lepage71 - DaveO entered the 2012 season with a new team and strong expectations. After scoring 8 wins, earning 6 poles, and leading over 500 laps, perhaps his expectation should have been even higher. In an outstanding campaign, Dave succeeded Rookiesrock as the CUP Series champion and became the third different series champion in three seasons. Dave was in the driver's seat most of the series, although teammate lepage71 won 5 races and closed the final margin to 33 points (2466-2433). Teamwork was an asset; nowhere was this more evident than at Talladega, where both drivers dodged crashes, fell to the back, and drafted to a 9-second margin over the rest of the field. Perpetual top-5 artists Hammer (1 win), Rookie (1 win), and bover907 followed in the standings. Bmxtwins (1 win) and kyle contented in the early stages before encountering difficulty later in the year. And in an underrated run, DusterLag had his most consistent season, collecting 5 top-5 finishes. Rated 5/5 (3 votes).

Courageous? Enter the Wad It Up 100 at Wilkesboro!
Saturday, June 25, 2011
lepage71 - Want a little chaos, destruction, and circus music, all packaged together in a full-length race? We thought so. The NASCAR Heat Racing League will be hosting its first derby event on Friday, July 8 at 11:00 PM ET. The race, open to all drivers, will be a 100-lap test of survival at nwilkesboro n using the NHRLC11 mod. Most importantly, the league's ordinary driving and pitting rules will NOT be in effect. That means anything goes, anytime, anywhere! The security guards at the gate will be checking for angry faces, so poor etiquette, intentional contact, and dive-and-gouges will all be requirements for success. As an added bonus, free BBFF "hit me" bumper stickers will also be handed out. Who will survive the wreckage and come out on top? Don't ask us, it's really anyone's guess! Rated 5/5 (4 votes).

Rookiesrock Collects Second Straight CUP Series Title
Wednesday, March 5, 2008
lepage71 - In 2007, Rookiesrock once again finished on top of the CUP Series points standings, fighting as part of a four-car battle in a season filled with tight competition. Rookiesrock, efgordon, lepage71, and d3efan all had outstanding campaigns, each notching at least 3 wins, 13 top-5s, 15 top-10s, and respective points totals 2986, 2964, 2935, and 2880. Despite the close margins, Rookiesrock gradually consolidated his lead with stable finishes, a reliability that would ultimately fuel his road to the championship. efgordon mounted a late charge that came 22 points short, but still walked away with a career-best finish in the standings as consolation. Familiar members claimed the remaining top-10 spots; Stick77 (5th), "Back Row" Skoty Speed (6th), actlabs11 (7th), DavisV (8th), Reef (9th), and bover907 (10th) earned hard-fought standings positions. bover907 Releases Final Version of NHRLCUP Mod
Wednesday, February 13, 2008
lepage71 - After months of groundbreaking innovation, bover907 has released the NHRL CUP Series Mod. As the members of the NASCAR Heat Racing League prepare for the 2008 season, the release of the mod concludes a long period of anticipation and speculation. For the creator, however, the finalization of the project signifies the evolution from idea to realization. In the beginning, bover simply sought to refine the painting process for the NHRL CUP Series. Over time, the mod transformed from humble origins into a comprehensive alteration of NASCAR Heat. The NHRL CUP Series Mod contains a host of impressive features, including stunning car models, updated engine sounds, new menus, and over 40 paint schemes from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The mod, designed exlusively for competition in the NHRL CUP Series, can be acquired from the downloads section. Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

Screenshots from bover907's NHRLCUP Mod
Thursday, August 30, 2007
lepage71 - NASCAR Heat Racing League driver and painting afficionado bover907 is making progress on the NHRLCUP Mod. He has completed the model, driver cockpit, and wheels, leaving only the damage process unfinished. On the forum, bover explained that he hopes to release a beta towards the end of the CUP and NBS seasons: "now, I can finally start the damage model. That's the last thing to do before releasing a beta and templates." He added that the damage model is highly detailed, requiring patience: "It entails making the car into the twelve correct pieces, cloning each of those pieces like 3-6 times each, which gives you some 60 different parts, and all has to stay below the correct polygon count . . . the damage model is, is the graphical representation of the damage on the car as seen in game. As far as how your car sustains damage from hitting what, how hard, that's all encoded in the game." Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

Rookiesrock Victorious in 2006 NHRL CUP Series Playoffs
Monday, January 8, 2007
lepage71 - Rookiesrock earned the 2006 CUP Series championship after a dazzling performance during the league playoffs. In 10 events, he tallied two wins, 6 top-5 finishes, a perfect 10 top-10s, and averaged a 5.30 finish. The championship battle was close again this season, as Rookiesrock's 1680 points trumped d3efan (1644) and WildFire (1628) in a contest lasting through the final race. d3efan led in points after 7 playoff events, but strong efforts by Rookiesrock in the final four races powered his title drive. Rookiesrock also fared well throughout the regular season: his 3823 points trailed only lepage71 (4015) and d3efan (3900) in the overall standings. d3efan nearly captured the overall points title, closing to within 35 points of lepage after race 21, but late struggles widened the final defecit to 115.
