My new cockpit build

Had me thinking too. but I don't think I'll be able to be as elaborate as reef was....

I am just going to build a cockpit which the computer monitor and seat will all be in right position, and still probably put the momo or maybe get a G25 for it.

The G25 is still only half the cost of a Thomas, Dan. lol

This is where I got the idea for my shifter console, it seems fairly simple to build and the wood isnt that expensive either.

Dude, I'm jealous! lol. Bungee cords is exactly how the old thrustmaster wheels were made. Worked very well.

As far as steering stops..... How about just some kind of tabs on the shaft that'd hit a stopper mounted on the base plate. You could get the exact range of motion that ur pot has... although I'd go with a tiny bit less, that way you're not slamming the pot against it's own stops.

I envision two offset tabs with the stopper being long enough so that both tabs would hit it. With ur wheel centered, it'd kinda look like a V shape at the top. What do you think?

I'm thinkin about drillin a hole and just putting a bolt in there, hhaving the "v" stop underneath. I'm tryin to minimize permenant things on the shaft. I'm gonna headache this issue today. Gonna post over at racesimcentral and see if those boys can come up with sumthin for me.

Still alot of work to do, but it is driveable right now. woo
