EagleKeeper

gee wiz rookie

Post by EagleKeeper »

sorry Rookie..... i'm not sure what happened to ya in the Busch race..... but, man that had to suck.
You had a huge lead...... and then I saw ya in the grass.... followed by a "pppppppp".
I think we all had our "run-ins" during that race. I actually wish i went with my "fuel-setup" and gone 25 laps each time. I used that setup earlier in the season and lost by 6 seconds. but in this race..... i know everyone had a few mistakes. I personally (like a dumby) ran straight into the back of a lap car (thinking he was going to move up) .... which damaged my nose. I was 2.1 seconds back from ya at the time and catching. the damage was unrepairable and ruined my lap speeds for the remander of the race. After i began to recover from this..... i tried to go on the outside of a lap car..... and then got walled.
finally.... after seeing your misforetune.... i thought i had the race won..... only to run out of fuel on the last lap in turn 3 while batteling TommyW for the win.
all of this after wrecking on lap 3 of the Daytona Cup race.
rough weekend

After the 1st pit cycles were completed, I saw I had a 2 sec lead on you and pager but I could tell you guys were coming. I was suprised to be out front after pits. Could be cuz I pitted 1 lap earlier to avoid the congestion on pitroad. After the final pit I had a 10 sec lead I finally took a breath and "boom" my screen minimized and into the wall I went. With 12 to go I was too damaged to hold it on the track so I had to pit. I wasn't that fast but my car was very stable and seemed to last. I was uncontrolably loose on lap 16 so I was making tire press and wedge adjustments each pitstop. Finally got it right on the last stop I think lol. And just a note to the rookies out there. I went the "go easy" route when performing pitstops and on each one I gained time and/or positions.

Rookie, something I learned before the truck Saturday was to turn off Norton's prior to the race. In practice before the race I had the same thing happen to me. So from now on I am turning all that crap off before the races. As for the race last night I had my mistakes last night as well. On the first and last pit stop I slid through my pit stall. But somehow I managed no damage to my car the whole race and I knew Eagle pitted to early for his last stop. So when I you said your screen minimized I knew I had the win. It was just gettin around Eagle without wrecking him cause he was blocking like a mother. lol

Lets see.... Vegas race, I lost it passing a car that was going WAY slower then I thought it was going as I came around the corner, hit the inside wall and folded the hood up. Then we won't even begin to talk about Daytona. (See Note of Camry's comments thread) Then, I slid thru the stall twice on the busch race. Just no tires left to stop the car. the first time seemed like an eternity! It's a miricle I finished on the lead lap. If Rookie's screen didn't minimize, I probably would have been lapped at least by him. Saw the leaders coming, and had a really loose car at that point, and was dirt trackin like a mofo, so thank God they didn't catch up, because I don't know how I'd a held a good line while letting them by. Just an overall bad weekend for "the bov". way to start the chase bri!

Your right Bov, lets just forget about that Daytona race Next year at Daytona will both be sitting better. That race can only improve for both of us.
