Fanatec Porsche Carrera Wheel/Shifter w Clutch

Post by JWSR »

Hi guys,

I've had this sim since 2000 and brought it back out of storage because of the wheel I just got to run Live For Speed. I came to this site in the hopes that someone had this wheel, and could hopefully help me setup the H shifter that came with it. No luck. But I finally figured it out in the Nascar Heat .cfg file. It is sweet!

The wheel is the Fanatec Porsche Carrera, found here http://www.fanatec.com/ This wheel, from reading reviews, is up to par with the G25, except for the price.

I posted the .cfg mod in this post (wrong place?) http://www.nascarheatracingleague.com/f ... 41&t=10759 for anyone interested in this wheel.

Anyway, I love this wheel, and I've owned several different models over the years. I'm 60, and not new to sim racing. For me now, it's a great hobby, and this wheel makes it very realistic in an old game.

Best Wishes,
Jerry

Nice setups. Good price range. Something for everyone...if they work well. Check this out guys. Link to their site has stand and cockpit setups too, but cockpit doesn't come with everytghing you'd need....

I wasn't impressed with this wheel. I was a tester for this wheel before it was introduced. I found the clamping system a problem and the buttons failed intermittently ( I use them for shifting , so they're used often). Other than that it worked anyways.

Come join our league you 60 year old dude. That age makes you a youngun compared to team TTR.

Thanks for the invitation Rook, but I'm far from good enough for online racing. I just got the wheel about 4 days ago. I couldn't pass up that price after I was comparing to the G25 and G27. My last one was the Act-Labs RS. Great wheel with super FF, but only 2 pedals and my shifter disappeared somewhere in this house!? I found that the clamp setup is rock solid on my PC desk. I can't move it if I try. The buttons all work well and no problems with the shifter, or the pedals. How long ago was it that you tested this wheel; could they have made improvements?
Mainly I was just passing along the shifter .cfg edit for anyone who might need it. Glad I found this site; thought this sim was no longer popular.

Oh yeah, it still has a big following, especially at The Mod Squad, FFSRacing.com and Speedsims.net

Thanks for the replies guys. Those are some pretty cool sites! It's amazing to see how much variation I can download into this old sim!
