NBS Race at Road America Rescheduled

Postby lepage71 » Sun Jun 20, 2010 8:24 pm
Due to absences, we're rescheduling the NBS race at Road America T.

The reschedule date will be next week, June 27 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. This means that we'll be running back-to-back NBS races next Sunday: Road America at 8:00 PM and Martinsville at 9:00 PM (the usual starting time).

We'll be starting exactly at 8:00 PM so please be ready on time.

If I can actually get Heat set up on this windows 7 system I hope to be there for the double. I'm sure there's a lot of posts out there somewhere, but if someone has a short answer--share it

DusterLag wrote: When installing heat this is the process you should use....

1) Run full CD install to the default folder.

2) Start the game and enter a race.

3) Install the Heat 1.1e patch.

4) Start the game and enter a race.

5) Install the NoCD patch and Heat 1.8 patch. (You can use the combo from this website http://www.racepainter.com/main/patches/patches.html it saves you some steps. This combo patch fixes all of the data/run folder issues.)

6) Install any mods and tracks. (Tracks should all go to the run folder.)

7) Enjoy the game!

Be sure you run the install as administrator, and be sure it goes into the Program Files x86 folder.

After I did the above, I just overwrote everything with my backup. Haven't had any issues yet.

If you wish to be able to save the entire replay tho, u must run it in win2000 compatability mode.

Some are having issues with the options.cfg file not saving properly, I haven't experienced this so I'm not sure about it. I know Easton knows how to fix that.

Never mind I'm making progress. The first time I tried to install it, it went through the full process and then never showed any folders. Easton mentioned manually creating folders and then I just copied everything off the original game CD and starting patching. I should be there as long as I get the wheel to work

What kind of wheel do you have? I have an install program for older Logitech wheels.

A sidewinder and it seems to function fine. So now I'm just unable to get any mods to function and can't modify the options.cfg file. I think I've seen these same problems referenced in other threads so maybe tomorrow I'll look through all of it

In order to edit the options file you must right click on it and go to properties. In first tap (general) there is a an option to change what program opens the mod. Click on that option and browse for notepad.

It will now open up as a notepad file with everything like it should be. When you save it, save it to the desktop and then drop and overwrite the previous options file.
